The members of the Council, who are elected by the membership at the annual general meeting, plan policy and activities of the Association. The Council elects a Chairman and Vice Chairman who in turn appoint special interest subcommittees. The secretary of the association Ms Yolande Bell, carries out the operational work of the Association.

The aims of the Association are:-

To promote greater economic and business ties between Ireland and South Africa.

To support the South African Embassy’s efforts to increase trade, commerce and tourism between Ireland and South Africa.

To promote and foster mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries and in particular to encourage cultural exchange.

To further the links between Ireland and South Africa in all ways open to the Association.

To promote Ireland as a base for EU activity.

Working closely with both embassies and key trade organisations, ISABA organises regular business and social events providing valuable networking opportunities for members, interested parties and business people visiting Ireland.

Activities include organising business briefings, networking events and seminars and maintaining and building links with other relevant bodies.
